Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not ready for the 2027 general elections.
According to Wike, the party lacks the necessary structure to effectively challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming elections.
During a live media session in Abuja on Friday, Wike criticized the PDP’s internal organization and questioned its ability to compete in the next election cycle.
He compared the party’s current state to a student who pretends to study for an exam without actually preparing.
He further mentioned that despite appearances, the PDP is not taking the necessary steps to be ready for 2027.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a prominent member of the G5 group of governors who opposed the party leadership, has consistently spoken out about the PDP’s leadership issues, especially following the 2023 elections.
