PDP moves to elect governorship candidate tomorrow in Ondo

The Ondo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will tomorrow ( Thursday) conduct its Governorship Primary Election to produce a candidate for the state gubernatorial election slated to hold in November 16, 2024, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ondo State said the primary will be conducted by a 7-man Primary Election Committee headed by the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

Seven aspirants were cleared by the Senator Sam Egwu Screening Committee to participate in the primary election.

Starnews NG reports that the aspirants include Adeolu Akinwumi, Olusola Ebiseni, Bamidele Akingboye, Kolade Akinjo, Bosun Arebuwa, John Mafo and Agboola Ajayi.

“The International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome), Akure is the venue for the exercise.

“A total of 627 Delegates from the 18 Local Government Areas of the State are expected to elect the standard bearer of the party for the November 16, 2024 Governorship election.

“Accreditation of Delegates will commence at 10:00am.

“All those who are not Delegates or have no business at the venue are advised to keep a reasonable distance from the arena”, the statement said.
