PDP Guber Aspirant, Banji Okunomo Receives Award of Honour From Ondo Students

National Association of Ilaje Students (NAIS) has honoured the leading gubernatorial Aspirant of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Banji Okunomo, with ”Award of Honour” for his contributions to Education in Ondo State.

Okunomo was awarded on Saturday alongside other awardees by the Students at Ondo State College of Health Technology, during their Regional Conference in Akure, Ondo State capital. 

The event was attended by the Secretary to Ondo State Government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Commissioner of Police, CP Undie Andie, among other prominent citizens in Ondo State.

The group which spoke through their president, Comrade Obebe Emmanuel, said the award was in recognition of the outstanding performance of Okunomo towards the upliftment of the union; and to also appreciate all the awardees for their goodwill and unalloyed support for the association.

They referenced Okunomo’s track record in the areas of education and community development. 

”For a man with the following achievements as a former local government chairman in Ilaje: Employment of over 300 unemployed persons into the service of the LGA, payment of bursary to all Ilaje Students in tertiary institutions, monthly subvention to various chapters of Ilaje student association, purchase of a car for the students union, unprecedented road construction, motor park etc, Hon. Banji Okunomo deserves to be honoured, he deserves this award; it would be unkind of us not to honour him, hence, we are honouring him today for his contributions towards education”, Obebe said on behalf of the Students while addressing dignitaries at the event.

In his response, Okunomo dedicated the award to the helpless unemployed youths in the Society. He thanked the students for the award and promised to do more in future political offices if given the chance again.
