PDP governorship Aspirant, Banji Okunomo, Visits Mimiko over loss of mother

The leading gubernatorial Aspirant of Ondo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Banji Okunomo, popularly known as BBO, on Sunday, stormed Ondo City with his supporters to visit former governor Olusegun Mimiko over the loss of his mother, Alhaja Muinat Mimiko.

Starnews had reported that the late Muinat Mimiko nee Ogunsulie, the mother of former governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State died at the age of 88, in Ondo City, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Okunomo arrived Mimiko’s residence in Ondo with a crop of PDP leaders in Ondo State led by a former Senatorial Aspirant of PDP in Ondo South, Engr Rapheal Ademulegun, amidst cheers from his supporters who waited for him at Mimiko’s residence around 6 P.M in the evening.

Starnews reports that the former governor and his brother, Dr. Abass Mimiko gave Okunomo and his team, a rousing welcome.

”Your Excellency, on behalf of myself and my team, we came to commiserate with you on the death of your mother. The last time I visited you, I could recall that you told me you wished your mother live up to 90 years on earth. God has actually granted your prayers because she died at 88 years.”

”Her death was a great loss, not only to your family, but to the state at large. At this moment, we identify with you sir. May God grant you and the rest family members the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss”, Okunomo told former governor Mimiko.

While thanking Okunomo and his team for the visit, Mimiko congratulated Okunomo for escaping death in a fatal road crash that claimed the life of late Mrs Toyin Ajinde.

”On behalf of myself, my brother Dr. Abass, and the entire family, we appreciate you and your team for this visit over the loss of my mother. But let me first congratulate you, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo and Yetunde Dada, for escaping death in an accident that unfortunately claimed the life of late Toyin Ajinde. It was a sad one. May God be with her family”

”As you said, mama indeed lived a fulfilled life. But I can’t deceive you, her death was indeed painful to me. Yesterday, I woke up to the reality that I do no longer have a mother. Unlike before that I would wake up to her room to check on her, but today, she is no more”, said Mimiko as he extolled his mother’s virtues.

Meanwhile, before the visit to the former governor, the PDP governorship Aspirant, Okunomo, and his team, were at Ilara-Mokin to console the wife of late Hon. Dele Osakuade, who died last week after a brief illness.

”Death is inescapable. We would all die one day. What we don’t know is when and how. Ma, I encourage you to take solace in the fact that God gives and takes. God would grant you the fortitude to bear this loss”, Okunomo told Mrs. Osakuade.
