PDP Chieftain Compares Buhari To Biblical Rehoboam Who Suffers His Subjects

–Says APC is a scam.

–Buhari has increased the burden, pains and sufferings of Nigerians instead of reducing it, he says.

–Says Akeredolu government did not perform because he’s paying back loan he took to run election

A chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) from Okitipupa local government of Ondo State, Hon. Solomon Bitire, has compared the administration of president Muhammadu Buhari led APC Federal Government to the Biblical Administration of King Rehoboam in the bible who became king and added to the burden, pains, and sufferings of the people instead of reducing it.

Bitire who spoke to the Chief Editor of Starnews, Pst Olumide Akinrinlola, in this interview, said that president Buhari who was elected by Nigerians to make life easier and better for them, has instead, increased their burden, pains and sufferings just like king Rehoboam did in the bible.

Excerpt of the interview..

Can we meet you sir?

My name is Solomon Bitire, former chairman of Okitipupa local government, and former chairman of chairmen of PDP local government executives in the 18 councils of Ondo State. I am presently an aspirant of PDP for Okitipupa State Constituency II of Ondo State house of assembly.

A man of your status, why contesting for house of assembly in this dispensation of not -too -young to run especially when men of your calibre are running for house of representatives, senate and office of state governor.

First, let me correct your wrong impression about me. I was only fortunate by grace of God to have served in several political offices. I am not an old man as youth think I am. I am also a youth like any other. I am still under 50 years of age. Lot of people think I am above 50years, maybe because I use to wear native attires instead of Jeans and T-shirt. My brother, If I put on Jeans and polo shirt, you will know I am younger than you. Another reason I limit myself to contest for house of assembly is due to lack of financial provision to finance the budget require for national assembly election. APC form alone for house of representative is N3m while PDP is N1.5M without some other expenses attached to them. You should understand what I am talking about here. Nigeria election is very expensive and that is the obvious facts. By God’s grace, I have developed myself politically to a stage whereby I have a structure to even run for governorship election in Ondo State and I know I will win if I do. But where is the resources? And if you borrow money or allow a political godfather to come in, you will discover such a person cannot perform while in office just like what you see today with the APC government at the state. They did not do any reasonable projects since assumption office of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as governor of the state under APC for close to two years in now. Why? This is because they are refunding the loan they took from other APC state governors to run their election in the last dispensation. I don’t want such a thing to happen to me. I do not want to be known for failures and that is why I cut my coat according to my cloth.

What is your assessment of President Buhari-APC led federal government in 3 and half years in government compare to the PDP 16 years rule?

Laugh! I know you as a child of God and you will agree with me this I want to say is the truth and nothing but the truth. Do you still remember the biblical story of King Rehoboam in the book of “1Kings 12:14” where Rehoboam succeeded his father as king and instead of him to lighten the burden of his people, he increased their burden, pains and sufferings the more. That verse of the bible read: “And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.” So, my brother, president Buhari could be compared to the biblical King Rehoboam who only came to succeed former president Jonathan to increase the burden, pains and sufferings of Nigerians instead of reducing it. He came to increase the price of fuel. He increased the cost of living. He increased electricity tariff. He increased price of goods and services through obnoxious economic policies. He introduced several taxes, even the banks are not left out as our bank accounts are now being debited for depositing and withdrawing of our own money. We are now paying COT which has been removed by Jonathan. We are again paying charges for the use of other banks ATM which has been stopped by Jonathan and many others I cannot remember. What about the dollar cabal which led to high exchange rate of dollar and has consequently led to increase in the price of goods and services. My brother, APC Buhari led government is a scam. No objective person will compare the two together. These people denied all their electoral promises and canceled some of them after they deceived the people into voting for them. There is nothing to compare here sir. Buhari is not capable. He’s old and incompetent. And the man who could help him, I mean Vice-president Osinbajo, the Aso Rock cabal did not allow him to operate well. The government has been highjacked by the cabals.

What is your advice?

We must change the change. And vote for any political party that will restructure Nigeria which our party, the PDP, has already promised to do.

Promise to do? Is it through Atiku Abubakar because he is the only Mr. Restructuring we know for now. Are you saying he is your candidate or PDP candidate?

As an Aspirant, I don’t have a candidate. Whosoever chosen by the party as candidate is my candidate. It is true Atiku is known as Mr Restructuring, but don’t also forget PDP has many other aspirants who also keyed into the idea of restructuring. My take is that APC should be voted out in 2019. The PDP has learnt their lessons and will improve on their past weaknesses.
