PDP applauds Appeal Court judgment affirming Ighodalo’s eligibility

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has praised the Court of Appeal for its judgment confirming the eligibility of Asue Ighodalo, the party’s candidate for the September 21 Edo governorship election.

In a statement released on Friday by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the ruling was celebrated as a victory for the collective will and aspirations of the people of Edo State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the Court of Appeal upheld the validity of Ighodalo’s voter card, which had been challenged in a lawsuit filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC,.

Ologunagba described the ruling as a triumph of truth over falsehood, stating that the court’s decision—dismissing the appeal as meritless and based on flawed assumptions—demonstrated that the numerous lawsuits against Ighodalo were frivolous and intended to distract him.

He further added that the judgment effectively put an end to the APC and its candidate Monday Okpebholo’s propaganda campaign against the PDP and its candidate.

“Our Party commends the people of Edo State for their support for the PDP and Ighodalo.

“We urge them to remain resolute and vigilant as we collectively coast to victory, come Sept. 21,” Ologunagba said.
