Parental Bullying: Drummer Commits Suicide in Ekiti

In a heartbreaking incident, Ayomide, a young drummer in his early 20s, widely known as “AY Stick” for his exceptional drumming talent, tragically ended his life yesterday evening at his parents’ home in Iyin-Ekiti.

According to reports from Iyin-Ekiti, Ayomide, who frequently performed with artists across the state, consumed Sniper, a potent insecticide, after enduring constant verbal abuse from his parents. They allegedly berated him for not leading a more enterprising and productive life.

A source close to the family said, “He drank an entire bottle of Sniper in his parents’ house yesterday evening and passed away at the teaching hospital. He was driven to this by the harsh words from his parents, who constantly urged him to live a better life.”

Ayomide had recently completed his secondary education.
