Authorities in the United States announced on Sunday that more than 100 undocumented migrants were detained during a raid at a nightclub in Colorado, marking another move in President Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration policies.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi stated on X (formerly Twitter) that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted the operation, arresting “over 100 illegal aliens” at an underground nightclub in Colorado Springs, a venue allegedly frequented by members of Tren de Aragua and MS-13 — two gangs that Trump recently classified as terrorist organizations.
The Trump administration has escalated its immigration crackdown by deploying military forces to the US-Mexico border and pushing for large-scale deportations, actions that have drawn criticism from judges, human rights groups, and Democratic lawmakers, who argue that constitutional rights have often been disregarded in the process.
Footage shared by the DEA showed armed agents smashing a window and ordering patrons to raise their hands as they fled into a nearby strip mall parking lot.
The agency confirmed that drugs and weapons were also recovered during the raid.
DEA Special Agent Jonathan Pullen told local media that the operation uncovered the presence of US military personnel at the club, either among the patrons or serving as armed security guards.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump praised the raid, claiming it targeted “some of the worst individuals illegally in our Country — Drug Dealers, Murderers, and other Violent Criminals.”
He also criticized judges who have blocked some deportations, warning that their actions would lead to a “Crime ridden MESS” across the country.
Meanwhile, rights groups recently reported the controversial deportation of three American children alongside their undocumented mothers, including one child suffering from a rare cancer.
Among other high-profile cases, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident with protected legal status, was deported to El Salvador.
Although the administration later admitted the deportation was due to an “administrative error,” Trump has maintained that Abrego Garcia has gang affiliations, despite a Supreme Court order for the government to facilitate his return.
