Osun LG Crisis: APC officials resume at Council Secretariats amid workers’ absence

Local government chairmen and councillors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have resumed duties at various council secretariats across Osun State, despite the withdrawal of services by workers.

The battle for control of local governments between the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been ongoing, following conflicting rulings from the Federal High Court and the Appeal Court.

The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) conducted local government elections amid the legal dispute, leading to the inauguration of chairmen and councillors by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Reports on Monday confirmed that APC-elected officials resumed at secretariats in several council areas, including Olorunda, Ife-Central, Boluwaduro, and Ejigbo.

Speaking on the development, APC chieftain Jamiu Olawumi stated that all chairmen and councillors had taken office across the state, including in Irewole.

He described the local government secretariats as active, with security personnel—including police officers, the Department of State Services (DSS), and Civil Defence—ensuring order under the directive of the Inspector General of Police.

Olawumi further disclosed that several council chairmen had issued statements instructing workers to resume by Wednesday.

He warned that failure to do so could lead to consequences regarding their employment status.

    Hmmm!
Workers should not be used as the suffering grass where two elephants are flexing muscles.
    Now my big question:
Who receives the Local Government allocation, APC or PDP?
