The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended one Dauda Lamidi, a 65-year-old man, on charges of possessing Indian hemp.
According to a statement released on Monday, Lamidi was detained by anti-narcotics agents along the Ibadan-Iwo expressway, as confirmed by the NDLEA command in Osun state.
The suspect was found in possession of a quantity of dried substance, suspected to be hemp, concealed within a two-litre gallon of engine oil.
It added that the substance weighed about 1.550kg.
According to NDLEA Osun command, the suspect is an ex-convict who was convicted of the same offence in 2019 and jailed for three years.
