Ondo varsity student stabbed to death by unknown persons

An undergraduate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, was at the weekend found dead in her room.

It was gathered that the deceased,a 300-level student in the Department of Economics, identified as Ifeoluwa Adekunle, was stabbed by unknown assailants in her off-campus hostel.

According to some students who did not wish to be named, the deceased student was found dead in her room.

One of the students stated that the incident had caused apprehension among other students within the university town.

He added that the case had been reported to the police.

According to him, the killing was not cult-related.

“We have reported the murder case to the police, but it seems they are slow in responding to our demands for identifying and tracking those behind this dastardly act,” he said.

While confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami, said investigation has begun into the case.

Noting that the student’s remains have been deposited in the mortuary, Odunlami added, “We are not sure if it’s a cult-related activity because she was murdered in her room situated off the campus, but investigation is going to unravel the cause.”
