Ondo TESCOM Warns Against Fake Interview Notices

The Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has issued a warning to the public, urging them to ignore a fake interview invitation currently being circulated on social media and WhatsApp.

TESCOM, which commenced the recruitment process for 1,000 secondary school teachers in April, conducted an online test for applicants on 23rd and 24th May 2024.

However, a misleading WhatsApp message has recently surfaced, falsely inviting applicants to attend a screening exercise.

The fraudulent message, titled “TESCOM RECRUITMENT SCREENING/INTERVIEW,” details supposed interview dates and venues across the state’s senatorial districts:
– Wednesday, 14/08/2024 – Northern Zone – Victory College, Ikare Akoko;
– Thursday, 15/08/2024 – Southern Zone – Stella Maris College, Okitipupa;
– Friday, 16/08/2024 – Central Zone – Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure.

When contacted, the Head of Press and Public Relations Unit of Ondo TESCOM, Akinyomi Goodluck, confirmed to The Hope that the information was not released by his office.

He clarified that TESCOM has not yet scheduled any interview dates, adding, “When an official date is set, it will be announced through the appropriate channels. For now, there is no such information.”

TESCOM’s statement serves as a caution to applicants and the public to verify information through official sources to avoid falling victim to misinformation.
