Ondo South agitates for NURTW State Chairman

**Says Ondo North had spent 6 years while Ondo Central spent over 8 years

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ondo South Senatorial District, has formally notified the Governor of the State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, that it is now their turn to produce the next Chairman of the union.

Mr. Ojo Dayo, a union member, stated this during an interview with our correspondent in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State.

The letter conveying this message was submitted to the Governor through the Chief of Staff’s office on Friday, January 5, 2023.

He said, “it is now the turn of Ondo South to produce the next state chairman of the union. During Governor Olusegun Mimiko regime, Mr. Obayoriade Daddymatter from Ondo North, occupied the position of the state chairman for a period of 6 years or thereabouts. Jimi Obama from Ondo Central took over from Daddymatter and spent 6 months and later handed over power to Mr. Ariyo Adetula from Ondo Central and spent 1 year and 4 months.

“When late Governor Akeredolu came on board, he appointed Mr. Jacob Adebo Idajo from Ondo central again. Following the aforementioned reasons, we want to strongly appeal to the Governor to appoint the next state chairman of the union from Ondo South, they unanimously said.

They also called on the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to wade into the matter as a matter of urgency and appointment Ondo southerner who can pilot the affairs of the union and carry everybody along.
