Ondo senator restates commitment in developing southern district

Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South senatorial district  has reinterated his commitment to develop the district better than he met it.

The distinguished Senator made this commitment to residents of the district on Wednesday at the Civic Center, in Idepe Okitipupa while rounding off his “Thank You Visit” to the district.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sen. Tofowomo toured the six local goverments: Odigbo, Irele, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo, Ese-Odo, Ilaje and Okitipupa to thank them for voting him as the senator at the hallow chamber.

Sen. Tofowomo said that he had signed the appointment of of 59 non statutory aides picked across the district who would be collecting not less than N50,000 monthly as well as began the construction of Constituency Office in Ore.

He said that he would also ensure that the youths of the area are gainfully employed in federal parastatl immediately there is vacancy and slots of such.

The senator added that he would ensure that the ongoing electrification projects in the region is completed and also ensure that the region especially Ore reclaim it’s commercial hub in the state. 

“I am here to thank you for your support during the election for voting me as your representative and standing by me ever since then, I say thank you all.

“You have made your own sacrifice to vote me and this is the time for me to reciprocate to you and I promise never to renege on all my electioneering promises.

“I have since signed 59 non-statutory aides selected across the district and more employment are coming to our youths at the federal parastatl when the slots is available.

“Our Constituency office will soon be commissioned in Ore, the ongoing uncompleted electrification project will be completed as well as other projects that will benefits you all.

“The Southern district is the goose that lays the golden egg for state but nothing to show, I promise to return the South back to the it’s former economic hub and at the end I will leave the district better than I met it,” Tofowomo said.,  

He, however, sought for the prayers and cooperation of residents of the districts for him to be impart ofthe lives of downtrodden and successful in the bid to reclaim the lost glory of the district.

NAN reports that the senator was applauded by teeming youths, women and chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as he reeled out his commitment to residents who filled the capacity of the hall.
