Ondo Poll: Activist rejects Jegede’s appointment as member of campaign team

The National Chairman, Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security Affairs (CONYSA), Ade Mario Emmanuel, has rejected Eyitayo Jegede’s appointment as a member of Ondo State campaign committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Emmanuel publicly rejected the appointment through a statement he personally signed and shared on social media on Thursday.

Starnews Nigeria reports that Jegede, the candidate of the PDP had set up the Ondo State campaign committee ahead of the state governorship election slated for October 10, 2020, in his campaign office, Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Emmanuel’s name appeared as a member of the Campaign Committee on Youth Mobilisation.

Reacting to his appointment, Emmanuel wrote:

Re: Appointment as Member of Ondo State PDP Campaign Committee.

It has come to my notice that my Name was enlisted on the Campaign Committee on Youth Mobilisation of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP ) for the October 10 2020 Governorship Election in Ondo State.

However, I do appreciate the fact that my impacts in Various Youths and Student Organization in the State has exposed me for recognition in Ondo State Political Sphere.

I wish to Publicly reject my nomination as member of the Youth Committee base on the fact that I no longer Partake in Politics. I am constrained to be neutral by the virtue of my recent appointment as the Chairman Committee of Nigeria Youth On Security Affairs ( CONYSA ). I and my team will be in Ondo State Soon to team up with the Security Personnels with the hope of ensuring a Peaceful Election in the State Come October 10 2020.
