Ondo Police Announce Restriction Of Movement

The Ondo State Police Command has declared a restriction on vehicle and motorcycle movement from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, for the Local Government elections.

This action aims to ensure security during the voting process.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Afolabi, shared the announcement through a statement in Akure, the state capital.

It was also confirmed by the police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Funmilayo Odunlami.

Afolabi mentioned that travelers passing through the state on election day should plan ahead due to the movement limitations.

However, essential services such as security personnel, healthcare workers, and emergency responders will be exempted from the restrictions.

He urged the public to follow election guidelines while voting and warned against any disruptions, The Eagle Online reports.

The police have assured the public that measures are in place to address any security threats during the election.
