The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has promised to provide a level playing field for all the party’s gubernatorial aspirants ahead of year 2020 election in Ondo State.
Assuring leaders of the party during a Stakeholders meeting in Akure on Tuesday, Engr. Clement Faboyede, State Chairman of PDP in Ondo-State, said free and fair primary election will be conducted for all aspirants to produce the party’s candidate in 2020 gubernatorial election.
Starnews reports that the leadership of the party also warned party leaders across the 18 Local Governments of the State not to sell their conscience for money; and be wearied of money bag-business politicians who are not politically rooted but will appear close to election period and disappear thereafter when elections are over, after accomplishment of their mission.
On behalf of the State executives, Faboyede thanked leaders and members of the party for their contributions which resulted to the success of the PDP in the last Presidential and National Assembly election in Ondo-State.
The party however set up contact and mobilisation comittees to harness new members and appeal to aggrieved members to return home with a promise to treat them well and give equal opportunity to all.
While reinterating the party’s openness and readiness to receive new members, Engr Faboyede however denied the defection rumour of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu into the PDP, saying it was the imagination of political distractors who were paid to mislead the party’s followers and supporters in Ondo State.

Many of our students are dropping out of school because they can’t afford to pay the exorbitant amount introduced by the governor. The PDP will review some of these hostile policies of government when we take over from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2020 election,” the party said.
In a uninanmous decision, the PDP leaders from across the State passed a vote of confidence on Engr. Faboyede led executives for their leadership sagacity.
