Ondo PDP has no Aspirant yet but mere expressionists — PDP Chieftain

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State,Hon. Sunday Menukuro, on Thursday, said that the PDP in Ondo State does not have any governorship aspirant yet but mere expressionists.

Menukuro gave this hint in a statement he personally signed and made available to Starnews NG in Akure, Ondo State Capital.

He said that “not until those expressing their interests for the ticket of the party have been able to obtain the party’s nomination form, those parading themselves as aspirants are merely claiming so as expressionists because every Tom, Dick and Harry, could claim to be aspirant.”

The full statement reads:

“It has become necessary to correct the incorrect impression which some people give to themselves as governorship aspirants of the PDP even when they are yet to obtain the PDP nomination form which should ordinarily qualify them as aspirants of the party.”

“The constitution of the PDP makes it abundantly clear that whoever is aspiring to become the candidate of the PDP must have obtained the party’s nomination form as a prerequisite to participate in the party’s primary election.”

“Where that has not been done, it is wrong for anyone to qualify himself or herself as aspirant.”

“The most regrettable part of it, is a situation where the majority of the people parading themselves as aspirants of the party are not known to party members.”

“Not until those expressing their interests for the ticket of the PDP have been able to obtain the party’s nomination form, those parading themselves as aspirants are merely claiming so as expressionists because every Tom, Dick and Harry, could claim to be aspirant,” Menukuro said in the statement.
