The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has appointed Zadok Akintoye as the new Director of Publicity.
The appointment takes effect immediately.
When asked if he had resigned as the state Publicity Secretary of PDP to pursue his governorship ambition, Hon. Banji Okunomo told our correspondent on phone that he remains the State Publicity Secretary of the party; and that, his tenure as elected state executive member of PDP will expire by next year alongside other members of the state executives.
According to him: “the State Publicity Secretary is the Political head of the Department, and he is elected into the office, while the Director of Publicity is an Administrative Staff appointed by the state executive.”
Starnews learnt that Akintoye, the new director of publicity was appointed to replace Mr. Ayo Fadaka who has recently been elevated to the position of zonal publicity secretary of PDP in South west.
Our correspondent gathered that Akintoye was appointed to fill the vacuum left behind by Fadaka after he was elevated to the position of Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party in South west.
The office of the state publicity secretary remains intact with Mr. Okunomo who is aspiring to be the next executive governor of Ondo State ahead of year 2020 election in Ondo State, starnews has learnt.
