The Ondo State Government has announced Friday, January 17, 2025, as a work-free day for public workers.
This measure is intended to enable civil servants to travel to their respective communities and participate in the local government elections set for Saturday, January 18, 2025. The elections will be overseen by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, explained that the day off would ensure greater participation in the voting process.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa urged all stakeholders to ensure the elections are conducted peacefully and fairly while emphasizing the importance of maintaining order throughout the process.
