Ondo Attorney General Commends Anti-Land Grabbing Law

The Attorney General of Ondo State, Kayode Ajulo, has described the newly signed anti-land grabbing law as a vital move to tackle illegal land occupation and disputes across the state.

He noted that the legislation goes beyond protecting landowners, as it also creates a secure environment for investors in the real estate sector.

Ajulo praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for signing the bill, which was sponsored by Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, a lawmaker representing Ondo West Constituency 1.

The Attorney General highlighted that the law introduces strict measures to prevent forceful land entry and ensures land transactions are handled transparently.

The law mandates the use of certified legal professionals for land sale agreements and requires stamping by the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service to minimize fraud.

It also introduces penalties for offenders, restoring order in property dealings and boosting investor confidence.

Ogunwumiju emphasized the bill’s economic benefits, stating that it would generate revenue for the state and resolve the land disputes that dominate court cases and constituency complaints.
