The National Association of Nigerian students (NANS), on Monday, declared unalloyed
support for Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, ahead of the governorship election slated to hold on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

The Zone D, southwest coordinator of NANS, Comrade Alao John, disclosed this to newsmen at the PDP Secretariat in Akure, the state capital.

He said over 15 million students under the zone have unanimously agreed to support one of the major candidates, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye(OBA).

The student leader described Otunba Akingboye as a visionary leader who is prepared and ready to take the state to the next level.

The students leadership also called on the leadership of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State to align with Akingboye who is ready to work in the interest of the youths and the people of the state ahead of the governorship election.

Comrade Alao said, “our leaders have been giving opportunities of leading the state to people who do not have the interest of the state at heart, people who do not understand the problem of the youths and the citizens.

“But this time around, we have found a perfect candidate, who has a vision for the people of Ondo State, a person who’s passion is to serve the people, a man of integrity who is prepared and ready to tackle all the problems facing the state, and there is no any other person than Otunba Bamidele Akingboye. He is a man who can provide solutions to all the numerous problems confronting the citizens of Ondo State”.

“This is why we declared our unalloyed support for him after consultation with over 15 million students across the southwest states,” he added.

Meanwhile, in a different development, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye has expressed satisfaction in the decision of his party (PDP) to produce a consensus candidate ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo State.

Akingboye expressed satisfaction in the decision while speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting of all the governorship aspirants at the PDP Secretariat in Akure on Monday.

“The party has taken the best decision to produce a consensus candidate. The economy is not friendly now, resources will not be wasted in the process, it is a good decision and the way to go”, he said.

Starnews NG reports that the business mogul who said he has been consulting and planning to change the fortune of the state since 21 years ago boasted that he has put all the necessary machinery in place to win the Party’s Primary and the state governorship election in the state. He also promised to work with anyone that emerges as consensus candidate if decision of the party does not favour him.

Akingboye hails from a Royal Family in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State and has been a successful International Businessman for over 40 years. He is a popular figure in Ondo State politics and has been in the PDP for a long time.
