Ondo 2020: Ignore the rumour about my withdrawal, says Eddy Olafeso

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Chief Eddy Olafeso, on Tuesday, asked his followers to ignore the rumour making the round on social media about his withdrawal from the Ondo State Governorship race in his Party, PDP, ahead of the governorship election in October this year.

Starnews NG reports that the Social Media was awash Wednesday evening with a breaking news that Chief Olafeso has backed out of Ondo State Governorship Race.

The story reads: “Breaking News: Olafeso backs out of Ondo Governorship Race

Barring any last minute change of decision, the South West Zonal Chairman of the PDP – Chief Eddy Olafeso may have backed out of the Governorship race in his Party, PDP. Our Sources authoritatively revealed that Chief Olafeso has already obtained the PDP Nomination form to be returned as sole candidate for the South West Zonal Chairmanship position which he presently occupies. Details later.“

But speaking with Starnews NG in a telephone interview, Olafeso said: “Please ignore them. That is not new to me in politics. I am seriously prepared for this race and you need to see the level of my preparedness. With my status, if I have any reason to withdraw from the race, I will address the press my brother. Just ignore whatever news they are circulating on the social media”, the vibrant Olafeso said.
