Omotayo-Toyo Foundation, a non governmental organisation, has trained hundreds of people in several skills acquisition programmes in Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency of Ondo State.
The program which involves football tournament and Skills acquisition programmes like Fashion designing, Makeup, and Computer operation, came to a close on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Igbobini Civic Center, in Ese-Odo Local Government Area in Ondo State.
Starnews reports that the event started on Saturday, November 23, 2019, with a football competition for youths under the age of 18 years.
The football competition was kicked off at Igbokoda Grammar School, in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Participants in various classes of the Skill Acquisition which cut across various departments such as: Makeup, Fashion design, and Computer operation, were given Makeup kits, complete sowing machine, while some were given free scholarships to further on Computer operation and repairs respectively.
The grand finale of the programme was attended by dignitaries including the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the Kalasuwe of Apoi Land, Oba Prof Sunday A. A., Hon Otito Atikase, Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, and Hon Ojo Omolewa, Chairman of Ese Odo Local Government, among others.
Starnews gathered that the Logo of the foundation was officially unveiled during the event which was the first edition of the Foundation.
The President of Omotayo-Toyo Foundation, Mr Bolaji Omotayo, appreciated all the dignitaries who attended the programme; and he announced the Deputy Governor, Barr Agboola Ajayi, as the grand patron of the foundation.
Some of the beneficiaries of the Skills acquisition expressed their delight. They appreciated the Organiser, Mr Bolaji, for bringing such a good programme to the grassroots which could reduce the rate of unemployment in the two Local Governments.
Starnews learnt that at the end of the three weeks football competition, Apaka FC, of Kiribo, in Ese Odo Local Government Area, defeated Peace F.C, of Ipepe in Ilaje Local Government Area, in a lone goal to emerge third position.
Unique Star FC, from Arogbo in Ese Odo Local Government Area lost to Liberty FC by a lone goal as the Runners up.
The team that came first was given N200,000 cash price, the second group received the sum of N150, 000 cash price, and the team in third position received N100,000 cash price with a set of Jersey for all of them including a team that came distant 4th position.
