Omokri challenges Natasha to take lie detector test over Akpabio allegations

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has urged Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to undergo a lie detector test following her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Omokri, in a video posted on social media, claimed that Akpoti-Uduaghan had previously made similar accusations against him in 2021, which he later debunked with concrete evidence.

He recounted the incident, stating: “On October 12, 2021, Natasha Akpoti had a disagreement with me. Following that, she went on social media and accused me of sexual harassment, alleging that it took place during a state banquet hosted by then-President Goodluck Jonathan for Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta at Aso Rock on May 6, 2014.”

Omokri dismissed the claim, clarifying that during that period, he was in the United States on an official assignment related to the aftermath of the Chibok girls’ abduction.

He presented evidence, including passport stamps and flight tickets, proving he was not in Nigeria when the alleged incident occurred.

“After I provided these records, Natasha deleted all traces of her accusation, including a video in which she attacked me, my wife, and my newborn daughter,” he explained.

He further revealed that senior religious figures later intervened, advising him to resolve the matter amicably.

He claimed that the issue was settled out of court, with a financial settlement paid to him as compensation.

Drawing a comparison between his past experience and Akpoti-Uduaghan’s latest allegations against Akpabio, Omokri remarked, “Now, four years later, Natasha is in a dispute with the Senate President, and she has once again accused a political figure of sexual harassment. This seems like a pattern.”

While stating that he could not verify the truthfulness of her latest claim, Omokri maintained that her past actions should be taken into account.

He called for a lie detector test, saying, “Before Nigerians rush to judge Akpabio, Natasha should first take a polygraph test. She can be accompanied by one senator who supports her and another neutral senator for fairness.”

He concluded by insisting that unless she takes the test, the credibility of her allegations remains questionable, given her history.
