The Ogun State House of Assembly has summoned the Olu of Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akamo, to answer allegations regarding the lease of land in Ewekoro Local Government Area.
The monarch is accused of leasing local government land at unusually low rates and is required to appear before the Assembly at its next hearing.
Additionally, the Assembly is investigating former Ewekoro Local Government Chairman, Adesina Sikiru, for alleged fraud.
Sikiru is accused of leasing government land to politicians and individuals for 99 years without proper procedures.
The Assembly’s Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption, led by Mr. Bello Oluwadamilare, has heard testimonies from former chairmen, stakeholders, and surveyors.
The committee has now called on both the monarch and other involved parties to present their cases as their names have surfaced prominently in the investigation.
