A former Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Government on Infrastructure and former Managing Director of Okitipupa Oil Palm PLC, Engr. Omoniyi Ogunwa Oboli, has described the death of the late Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as tragic and a huge loss to the State and Nigeria.
In a condolence message made available to Starnews Nigeria on Friday, the chartered Engineer and World Bank Project Management Consultant, said Akeredolu is a known fighter who fought tirelessly for true democracy.
According to him, “Akeredolu was a man who stood his ground against the fulani herdsmen who were maiming and killing our people in the Southwest, a pioneer of the Amotekun corps.
“His type is rare. In his lifetime, Aketi was raw, blunt, bold and unwavering. We have lost a rare gem and an important personality in Nigeria’s politics.
The former governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said Nigeria and most importantly Ondo State will miss Akeredolu for the indelible impacts he made in the history of the State.
“He’s a dear brother, friend and a good leader. May his soul rest in peace”, he added.
