Obi Cubana shares story about wife, life challenges that touch Nigerians

In a touching narrative shared by the renowned entrepreneur Obi Cubana, he opened up about a promise he made to his wife during her pregnancy, a promise that touched the hearts of many.

“When my wife was carrying my younger son, Zillion, in her womb, she asked me to promise her a gift when she gives birth,” Obi Cubana began.

He went on to recount how, two months later, their son Zillion came into the world, and a month after that, Obi took his wife to a large phone shop. She had a particular phone in mind, but little did they know, an unexpected twist awaited them.

Obi’s mother-in-law accompanied them to the shop and overheard their conversation with the dealer. When she heard the price, her mood shifted suddenly, and the front desk staff noticed but didn’t inquire further.

Obi, standing there, was reminded of their early years together when he and his wife faced immense hardships. He recalled a time when they were so broke that they had to wash clothes for people just to make ends meet.

One particular incident stood out. They had washed a set of clothes for a customer, but when they delivered them, the customer refused to pay and even locked them out of their house.

Obi’s pregnant wife was hungry and in pain, and they had no money for transportation. They eventually walked a long distance, found someone charging phones, borrowed money, and lost their phone in the process.

Reflecting on these struggles, Obi realized that no material possession could ever equal the sacrifices his wife had made for their family. He decided to buy the phone she wanted, using his card to pay for it.

On the way back home, his mother-in-law was initially silent, worried that her daughter had made an extravagant request. However, when she learned the story behind the purchase, she couldn’t hold back her tears and expressed her gratitude.
