Obasanjo’s Former ADC, Jemitola, Dies After Collapsing at Abuja Golf Club

Retired Major General Chris Jemitola, who once served as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has passed away.

According to Sahara Reporters, Jemitola reportedly collapsed while at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja on Thursday morning. Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. The exact cause of his collapse has not yet been disclosed.

A distinguished military officer, Jemitola was Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 when he held the rank of colonel. He later ascended to key positions in the military, including Director of Defence Information and Defence Attaché at Nigeria’s embassy in Brazil.

Before retiring, he served as the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army, contributing significantly to military strategy and operations. In 2019, he transitioned to the private sector as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited.

His sudden demise has left many in the military and defense community in mourning, with tributes pouring in to honor his contributions to national security.

As of now, his family has yet to release details regarding funeral arrangements.
