Chapter of the Tantita Security Services,Bidemi Joshua Obayangban popularly called O.C General has unveiled a football competition involving teams from all six local government areas in Ondo South, Ondo state.
This endeavour, driven by his commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, aims to contribute positively to the community.
The grassroots politician conveyed in an official statement that communities and football teams in Okitipupa, Irele, Ese-Odo, Odigbo, Ilaje, and Ileoluji Okeigbo are invited to partake in the competition.
The event is scheduled to take place at the government field in Okitipupa, starting on November 15, 2023.
Prizes for the competition winners and outstanding players include substantial cash rewards exceeding N500,000, jerseys, and other enticing incentives.
Dignitaries expected at the event encompass traditional leaders, sports enthusiasts, and political representatives such as the Secretary to the Ondo State government, Barr. Oladunni Odu, Senator Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim, and Hon. Jimi Odimayo.
Hon. Obayangban, previously serving as a Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Okitipupa council area, is recognized for his commitment to humanitarian causes, philanthropy, and community projects.
The O.C General Foundation has actively engaged in initiatives like free feeding projects, holiday coaching for underprivileged students, scholarships, and financial aid for health and education.
The coordinator of the O.C General Foundation, Akinsuroju said in a statement that the tournament underscored the broader impact of these programs in alleviating poverty, addressing youth restiveness, and fostering sports development in both Ondo state and Nigeria.
Notably, the past editions of the football competition have witnessed local talents like Adebusoye Murphy and Adefeyiju Garbon progressing to play for international football clubs.
