Human rights activist and the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore accompanied National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Ushie Rita Uguamaye to the Eti-Osa Local Government Inspector (LGI) office in Lagos earlier today.
Uguamaye had been summoned after a social media video she posted criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration and calling him a terrible president, highlighting economic hardships faced by Nigerians. In response, NYSC authorities directed her to appear at the Eti-Osa 3 local government office by 10 a.m. on Monday.
Upon arrival with some team of lawyers, , they found the LGI officials absent. Despite waiting for hours, , they could not address Uguamaye’s concerns. Sowore criticized the absence as a lack of accountability and courage within the NYSC system. The situation has drawn public attention, with many criticizing the NYSC for various threats issued to Rita.
