In response to a recent act of vandalism, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced emergency measures to reinforce a damaged tower along the Jos-Gombe 330kV transmission line. According to TCN’s statement released today, engineers will commence repair work from 11:00 am to 06:00 pm, aiming to restore the integrity of the transmission circuit affected by the incident.
The seven-hour operation is critical to rectifying the damage sustained by the transmission infrastructure, necessitating a temporary interruption of power supply to several regions. Affected areas include Gombe, Yola, Damaturu, and Jalingo, where residents and businesses are advised to prepare for scheduled power outages during the specified period.
“We understand the inconvenience this interruption may cause and assure the public that our teams are working diligently to complete the reinforcement swiftly,” stated Ndidi Mbah, GM of Public Affairs at TCN. “Once the repairs are concluded, normal power supply will be promptly restored across the affected regions.”
TCN urges residents and stakeholders in the mentioned areas to cooperate with the necessary adjustments during this maintenance period. Further updates will be provided as the situation progresses.
