The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has provided updates on its ongoing efforts to modernize the Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries.
The projects aim to transform the facilities into globally competitive operations, Naija News reports.
The Port Harcourt Refinery, with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day, along with the Kaduna Refinery, is undergoing extensive upgrades that go beyond routine maintenance.
These efforts mark a shift from previous approaches to achieve long-term functionality.
NNPCL clarified that the improvements also extend to the 60,000 barrels per day Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, countering claims about their viability and operational status.
The company stressed its commitment to ensuring all its refineries operate efficiently in line with international standards.
