NLC Threatens Showdown with Police Over Sealing of NURTW Secretariat

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), under the leadership of Joe Ajaero, has issued 48 hours ultimatum to the Nigeria Police Force to direct its operatives to immediately vacate the National Secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Abuja.

The NLC, in a statement issued at the end of its emergency National Administrative Council (NAC) today, asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to withdraw his men from the NURTW office.

The labour group also urged President Bola Tinubu to without further hesitation, clear his name which is reportedly being peddled by those who have forcefully taken over the NURTW’s secretariat with the aid of security operatives.
