The Gombe State Police Command has detained nine individuals for various offenses in the state.
At a news conference in Gombe, the command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Abdullahi Buhari, who represented Commissioner of Police Hayatu Usman, outlined the crimes committed by the suspects.
These include armed robbery, aiding concealment, criminal conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property.
Recovered items include two laptops, 26 mobile phones, three power banks, three flashlights, a rechargeable hand fan, four pairs of women’s sandals, and five ATM cards.
Additionally, N224,700, a charm, and three cutlasses were seized from the suspects.
Buhari reported that some suspects were involved in the robbery of the Nigerian Christian Fellowship Corper lodge in Billiri and the residence of former Commissioner of Agriculture Muhammad Gettado.
During the investigation, the suspects admitted to the crimes and will soon face charges in court. The PPRO also noted that five suspects are still at large and that the police are actively pursuing them.
He assured state residents of the police command’s dedication to ensuring their safety and protecting property.
