Nigeria’s Former Ambassador to Kenya Dies at 73

 

 

The immediate past Nigerian ambassador to Kenya, Ambassador Yusuf Yunusa, has passed away at the age of 73.

He died at the Yobe University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, on Friday after a brief illness.

Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, was among dozens of dignitaries of who attended the funeral prayers of the late ambassador which was led by the Chief Imam of Nguru Emirate, Imam Shehu Goni Abba.

Buni described the deceased as an elder statesman, dedicated, honest and seasoned civil servant and technocrat per excellence, who lived a selfless life.

He who prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannathul Firdaus, and equally prayed Allah to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Late Ambassador Yusuf Yunusa was born in Nguru in the year 1950 and he is survived by four wives, 21 children, many grandchildren and brothers, including Engineer Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, former Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
