Nigerians celebrate independence day in Philippines

Nigerians in the Philippines recently celebrated the 64th Independence Day of Nigeria in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

The event, organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Philippines and the Nigerian Embassy, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.

In his address, the Charge D’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy, Oloje Adeshina, commended Nigerians in the Philippines for representing the country well, urging them to always be a good ambassador of the country and Africa as a whole.

Adeshina also inaugurated the newly appointed executives of NIDO headed by the President, Tony Marioghae.

Marioghae, in his inaugural speech, urged Nigerians living in the Philippines not to succumb to defeat and despair, urging them to confront their challenges boldly with a mindset of victory.

He also charged them to embrace the right moral principles and values and work to achieve impossible feats through honour, vision, and unity of purposeNigerians celebrate independence day in Philippines
