The late famous Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, will be buried on today (Friday) in Lagos.
The music icon known as the “Elegant Stallion,” died on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, at the age of 72.
According to reports, she died after collapsing at the birthday celebration of Mrs. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
The family has announced funeral arrangements for the deceased, with a service scheduled at Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, followed by a private interment at a vault in Ikoyi, Lagos State, as indicated on a circulating funeral flyer.
According to the flyer, the Service of Songs is scheduled for 10 -12 noon while the burial will take place between 2 and 4pm.
Onyeka Onwenu was not only a gifted musician with numerous hits but also a broadcaster, actress, politician, and activist.
She will be remembered for her music albums such as In The Morning Light and Dancing In The Sun. She also featured in several movies including Half of a Yellow Sun and Lionheart.
