Nigerian Military Arrests personnel for allegedly stealing, hiding Ammunition in bag of Rice

The Nigerian military’s Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Borno State, has arrested a soldier, Lance Corporal Mubarak Yakubu for allegedly stealing ammunition.

The soldier, according to Zagazola Makama, a security source, was arrested by the 7 Division Military Police K9 Team on routine search Operation at the Borno express Terminal in Maiduguri on Thursday, 9th of May 2024.

Citing intelligence sources, the soldier was arrested for unlawfully being in possession of 756 quantity of Rnds of 7.62 mm special ammunition and 4 x 36 Hand Grenade concealed inside a small bag of rice.

Makama, which shared the information in its official X (formerly Twitter) with pictures of the soldier with recovered ammunition, said the corporal is currently in custody of the military for further action.
