Dr. Nsikak Akpan, a Nigerian academic, has been granted approval by Guinness World Records to embark on an ambitious 150-hour non-stop lecture.
His goal is to surpass the current record set by Indian professor Arvin Mishra, who delivered a lecture lasting 139 hours, 52 minutes, and 42 seconds in 2014.
The marathon lecture will be held from September 23 to 30 at Foreign Links College in Moro, Osun State, focusing on the theme “Relationships between Man’s Environment and Health.”
Dr. Akpan, an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, aims to contribute to the academic field while raising awareness about the impact of environmental degradation on human health.
“I want to use this platform to educate students and the world about the importance of environmental conservation and its impact on human well-being,” Akpan stated.
Recall that GWR had finally deactivated its ‘cook-a-thon’ category, after a viral Ghanaian chef, Ebenezer Smith, forged its certificate.
Allnews.ng gathered that the move is consistent with the organization’s practice of discontinuing records that cannot be accurately measured or verified.
