Nigerian Lawmaker Suspended Over Alleged Misconduct

The Delta State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Chukudi Dafe, the lawmaker representing Ukwuani Constituency, following allegations of serious misconduct.

AFRIPOST reports that the suspension, set to last for 14 legislative days, was moved by Majority Leader Engr. Emeka Nwaobi of Aniocha North and seconded by Chief Whip Hon. Perkins Umukoro. The motion passed swiftly, though specific details of the alleged misconduct were not disclosed.

According to Daily Trust, the suspension has raised concerns among some lawmakers who question the Assembly’s approach to internal discipline. Calls for clarity and transparency regarding the accusations have gone unanswered, adding to public speculation.

The incident has sparked wider discussions within Delta State’s political community, with many urging the Assembly to ensure transparency and accountability in its disciplinary processes to uphold public confidence.
