The minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has told international communities that Nigeria is safer than it was in 2015.
The Minister disclosed this in Washington DC, USA, during an interview with the Voice of America (VOA).
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Minister also said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has made progress in economic recovery, with deliberate programmes for diversifying the economy.
“By and large, Buhari’s administration had performed well in addressing insecurity in Nigeria,”the Minister said.
He claimed the government had successfully secured the entire territory of the country from Boko Haram while the farmers/herdsmen clash in Benue had been curtailed.
Mohammed added that the banditry and killings in Zamfara and Kaduna have been put under control in the last two weeks because of the synergy among the security forces.
He assured that the government will continue to strengthen partnership on the regional and international levels in addressing the challenges.
