NGF Reacts to Tragic Ibadan Christmas Party Stampede

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of over 30 children in a stampede at a Christmas event in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The incident, which also injured many others, took place at a party attended by students, with the organizer being the former wife of the Oni of Ife.

Among those involved were the school principal and event organizers.

Governor Seyi Makinde, the NGF Vice Chairman, received condolences from the forum, as well as from the families affected by the tragedy.

President Bola Tinubu has called for a thorough investigation into the event.

The NGF has offered its condolences to the victims’ families and the people of Oyo State, wishing them strength as they cope with the loss.

The forum has also backed the investigation, urging actions to prevent future incidents like this.
