The North Central All Progressives Congress, APC, Forum has criticized a group led by former Senate President Ameh Ebute for endorsing the embattled National Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Ganduje, ahead of the Party’s upcoming National Executive Council, NEC, meeting.
The group, operating under the banner of the North Central APC Elders Forum, had previously praised Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for his support of Ganduje and had urged others to do the same.
With the NEC meeting scheduled for September 12, some stakeholders from the North Central region are advocating for the position of National Chairman to be returned to their zone.
In a statement released in Jos yesterday, the Chairman of the North Central APC Forum, Saleh Zazzaga, condemned the actions of the group, stating, “The desperation of certain forces within the North Central region is becoming apparent through their greed and insensitivity, as they betray the region regarding the National Chairmanship position of the Party.”
“The North Central region will not be deterred by the action of the few betrayers, and will not compromise anything or stop at nothing to clinch back the National Chairmanship position of the APC which has been arranged by the Party.”
