N6b ISOPADEC fund: Okorocha Dares Ihedioha To Probe him

Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha on Thursday dared his successor Emeka Ihedioha to probe him if he there are fact that he diverted over N6billion from the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC).

An investigative panel report says the agency’s N6,044,774,341.37 managed by the Okorocha administration could not be accounted for.

Okorocha, in a statement by his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, said the panel was questionable.

“A serious panel would have invited the former governor or any of the former Chairmen or Managing Directors of the Commission under Okorocha for questioning or fact-finding,” he said.

According to the spokesman, Ihedioha has made fighting Okorocha his focus.

He said the Ihedioha administration wrote 32 petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and 15 to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) against Okorocha and his family.

The former governor challenged Ihedioha to publish what the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administrations did with ISOPADEC funds for 12 years to be compared with what he did in eight.

“PDP government ran ISOPADEC from a rented three-bedroom apartment close to Winners Chapel Owerri, without electricity and water.

“But, Okorocha came and built a multi-billion naira edifice in a choice area in Owerri as headquarters of ISOPADEC, built the Marine University at Ossemotor in Oguta which was nearing completion, stopped militancy and rehabilitated the militants through empowerment programmes,” the spokesman said.

He asked Ihedioha to return to the House of Representatives to resume his oversight functions as he has shown a lack of capacity to govern.

“For almost nine months, the Ihedioha administration appears stranded, with nothing to show that a new government is in Imo and he is diverting attention over his motionless government by fighting Okorocha full-time,” Onwuemeodo said
