Max Air Aircraft Suffers Tyre Burst on Landing in Kano

By Miracle Ogunde

A Max Air aircraft carrying 53 passengers suffered a tyre burst late on Tuesday night while landing at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The aircraft, with registration number 5N-MBD, had departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for Kano before experiencing the incident at 22:57pm.

Despite the tyre burst, all passengers onboard were safely evacuated without injuries. Reports suggest that the aircraft may have lost its nose landing gear tyre upon landing, which resulted in the incident.

Efforts to reach Max Air officials for comments were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report. Similarly, attempts to speak with officials of the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau proved futile, as calls and text messages to the agency’s spokesperson went unanswered.
