Maryam Shetty Reacts After Being Removed as Minister By Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday communicated to the National Assembly, withdrawing the nomination of Maryam Shetty as a ministerial nominee from Kano State.

The President, in a supplementary list sent to the upper chamber, nominated 19 more persons, including Maryam Shetty, to be screened and confirmed together with his 28-man list earlier sent for ministerial positions.

Our reporter gathered that the President, in a latest development, asked the Senate to replace Maryam Shettywith Mairiya Mahmud.

Reacting to her removal, Shetty took to Twitter to write:

“Just In. I was just informed now at today’s plenary session that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has withdraw my ministerial nomination and replaced her with Dr Mairiya Mahmud.I’m grateful and thankful for any decision from you My President! #WeBelieve #ZeroTension”.

She congratulated her replacement:

“I felicitate with Dr Mariya Mairiga Mahmud. I thank the leader of our party HE Abdullahi Ganduje for his fatherly disposition and democratic stance that set the stage for a free and transparent contestation devoid of institutional bias, favoritism, or imposition of any kind”.
