Many Feared Dead As Herdsmen, Security Operatives Clash in Oyo

A clash between herdsmen and security operatives claimed multiple lives in Iwerele, a community in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The cause of the conflict is still unclear.

It has been learnt through a titled chief in the community that the clash may have been sparked by a dispute between a farmer and herdsmen whose cattle grazed on his farmland.

The farmer was reportedly killed during the argument, and combined security operatives of Operation Burst, OPC, Amotekun, and Soludero were deployed to the area to restore peace. However, they were allegedly ambushed by the herdsmen.

The exact number of casualties is still unknown.
