A middle-aged man has died after slumping while attempting to cross a road in the Ogbonmo area of Owo, Ondo State.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning in Owo Local Government Area and quickly drew the attention of residents and passers-by.

Eyewitnesses said the man suddenly collapsed by the roadside, prompting people in the area to gather and try to identify him.

A video later shared on social media showed the deceased lying on the ground with an Android phone and a pharmacy receipt beside him.

In the footage, a narrator suggested the man had just bought drugs before attempting to cross the road when he slumped.
