Mafo picks PDP nomination forms, says I am the right man to lead the party to victory in Ondo

One of the governorship aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, John Ola Mafo has purchased the PDP expression of interest and nomination forms on Wednesday.

Starnews NG reports that Mafo, a former deputy governorship candidate of the party picked the Thirty Five Million Naira Only (N35, 000, 000) forms at the National Secretariat of the PDP at Wadata Plaza in Abuja, FCT.

He was accompanied by party leaders and loyalists.

Recall that the NWC of the PDP had on March 7, 2024 advertised the Sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms. The sale of form will close on March 21, 2024 according to the released timetable.

Starnews NG reports that Mafo is one of the few aspirants who bought the forms.

The Gubernatorial primary is scheduled to hold on 25th April, 2024.

Starnews NG reports that the Acting National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Damagum assured all stakeholders that the PDP primary will be transparent and credible.

“The party will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants,” he said.

Picking the nomination form, Mafo, popularly known as MOJ, promised to unite the party and bring his wealth of experiences to bear in leading the PDP to victory if he wins the party’s ticket.

According to a statement by Yusuf Adebayo, Leader of his Media Team, Mafo said that he is the right man to lead the PDP to victory in Ondo State.

“I am the right man to lead the PDP to victory in the November 16, 2024 governorship election. I have the wealth of experiences needed to rule this state with a good relationship with all the party leaders,” he said.

John Ola Mafo served as Commissioner under former Governors, Olusegun Agagu and Olusegun Mimiko. The Aheri Ilaje born lawyer has never defected from the PDP since 1999. He is the current Secretary of the State Elders Committee of the Ondo State chapter of the PDP.
